The Events Associate is responsible for providing a broad range of resources related to special events for the California chapter, as part of the marketing team, working closely with development, conservation and science teams.
The Events Associate reports to the Special Events Director and is a member of the marketing team. The position can be located in the Conservancy’s Los Angeles or San Francisco office.
The Events Associate organizes and oversees events to make an impact to TNC California’s target audience, its major donors and volunteer leadership. The Associate works across the California chapter as an innovative team player with development and marketing, as well as with the conservation, science, external affairs and executive teams, to create dynamic and unique events. Events will include field trips to world-class nature preserves throughout California, thought leadership events with key influencers, and smaller high-touch events all designed to maximize donors’ experience with The Nature Conservancy as the leading conservation organization in California and around the world. This entails handling diverse tasks, participating in calendar development, coordinating invitation design, planning all details with the venue and participating staff, and developing communications for the various teams. The Associate works within budgets and with vendors to minimize expenses and maximize return on investment. This position manages contracts and utilizes outstanding project management skills with diplomacy, working proactively in collaboration with the Special Events Director. The Associate uses software systems to track event results, report findings, and works with the Special Events Director and Marketing Team managers to implement strategic recommendations.

- Travel in California is required.
- Experience cultivating and managing client/customer relationships.
- Experience writing, editing and proofreading.
- Experience organizing events, meetings and/or field trips, and coordinating multiple projects.
