The YMCA of San Francisco is in one of its most dynamic points in our history. We are well positioned to transform the landscape of the Tenderloin community with a new YMCA branch in the neighborhood. Since 1894, the Y has been committed to the Tenderloin community and has served as an anchor institution and currently delivers programs and services from the location at Boeddeker Park.
In collaboration and partnership with University of California Hastings College of the Law and University of California San Francisco, the new Y will be an integral part of a new building facing, on one side, our vast civic and cultural center to the south and the vibrant, if not highly complex Tenderloin to the north. Our Vision for the project is “when the law, health science and the community work together, imagine the future.” A successful $35 million capital campaign will allow us to open the new Tenderloin Y in 2022.
The YMCA of SF depends on philanthropic support with a strategic plan to raise $15,000,000 annually. We accomplish this through annual giving, major and foundation gifts, capital, corporate support, major events and planned-giving. While we have excellent capital campaign consultants, we need strong and robust development professionals to be successful in all our charitable and philanthropic endeavors.
The Chief Development Officer (CDO) will lead a team of seasoned and sophisticated development professionals, guide the board and staff in developing and executing strategies to raise $15,000,000 annually and ensure the organization is well positioned to raise $35M for a successful Tenderloin Community Project capital campaign.
The CDO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is part of the four-person C-Suite senior leadership team to include the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Chief Financial/Administrative Officer (CFO/CAO). Together, this team models and supports effective, on-going organizational effectiveness that addresses the intersections of fundraising, operations, finance, infrastructure, advancing equity and impact.
