We are a San Francisco based nonprofit working on an exciting progressive campaign to reform California's Proposition 13 to restore over $11 billion every year of desperately needed funding for our schools and public services.
California used to be number one in the nation in K-12 and higher education funding. But after decades of disinvestment, due to Prop. 13, we are ranked 44th in the nation in per pupil funding and tuition at the UCs and CSUs has tripled in the last 15 years.
We believe that it's time for our state to once again prioritize education over corporate profits. That's why we are working on a groundbreaking campaign to make corporations, like Chevron, pay their fair share of property taxes to generate billions of dollars a year for our schools.
We are looking for people who share our vision for a better California and are excited about being part of a statewide grassroots campaign that will have a lasting impact on our state.
