A San Diego based nonprofit is seeking a bookkeeper to join its team. Applicants must be able to multitask, comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, and be a self-starter. We are committed to providing a safe work environment; we expect that the applicant will be able to work effectively in a team setting, maintain professionalism and respect towards team members and the community we serve. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsibilities 
•    Maintain books and financial records up to date;
•    Prepare financial reports on a monthly basis for executive leadership and board members. Must be comfortable with presenting financial updates as needed; 
•    Maintaining donor database updated with donation and in-kind contributions;
•    Provide assistance with donor communications, as needed;
•    Process vendor invoices, payments and reimbursements in a timely manner;
•    Process payroll for the organization’s staff.

 

Educational Background: 
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years experience required
Skills/Experience: 

Required Skills
•    A minimum of 3 years’ experience using Quick Books Online;
•    Experience running payroll preferred.
•    Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience working with nonprofit organizations strongly preferred;
•    Strong computer skills, including extensive experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills; 
•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
•    Must be able to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards. 

 

Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly Rate: Depending on experience ( $25 -$35 per hour)
