The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Digital Marketing Specialist supports the direct marketing initiatives that connect wounded service members, their family members, and their caregivers with WWP events, programs, and activities. The Digital Marketing Specialist will possess an understanding of the wide spectrum of WWP programs, and the needs of the warriors, family members, and caregivers we serve.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Create targeted, compelling content for the weekly newsletter that drives warrior and family member event registration and engagement with programs and services.
  • Develop and deploy weekly newsletter through email marketing platform with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Develop strong relationships with regional program staff.
  • Collaborate with WWP regional offices and program stakeholders to stay up to date with upcoming program needs and events.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data and trends from email marketing communications to improve targeting and participation.
  • Support a variety of projects for improving departmental goals as requested.
  • Provide general administrative, budget, and project support for leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related area. Equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Effective written communication skills. Strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated internal collaboration and copywrite skills
  • Possess a professional presence and demeanor. Skill and ease speaking in public and serving as a representative for the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature and flexible manner.
  • Self-motivated, positive, outgoing, personable, and able to relate well with diverse populations and age groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex information, and recommend creative, practical, high-impact solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team to ensure department objectives are met
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Effectively complete assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to provide high level of service to demanding internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong project management skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and Outlook; Apple operating systems; Internet navigation/research; database management; and customer relationship management software.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Mission driven, guided by core values, and a pleasure to work with.
  • Three years of relevant business-related experience.

Preferences

  • One-year of email marketing, copywriting, sales, marketing, or journalism experience.
  • One year of creative agency experience.
