Wounded Warrior Project’s (WWP) Digital Communications Specialist will drive the engagement of WWP Alumni in all programs and services provided through the development of improved strategic communications. The Digital Communications Specialist will be responsible for gathering field intelligence to be used for all program announcements, information, and communications. The Digital Communications Specialist must be a skilled internal collaborator and copywriter. He/she will possess an understanding of Wounded Warriors, their families, and caregivers we serve and the programs we provide. The Digital Communications Specialist will partner with regional program teams to solicit participation from potential Alumni, family, and caregiver participants through a variety of communications, including, but not be limited to, developing content for master program-oriented website and emails. The Digital Communications Specialist may participate in the implementation of some events, and when on-site, will provide event support.
- Collaborate WWP Regional Offices and Program teams to stay current regarding upcoming program needs or events
- Write event descriptions that drive registration and attendance
- Update regional program information in a timely manner
- Develop strong relationships with regional program staff
- Create new methods to maintain or develop Alumni, family and caregiver engagement in new or existing WWP programs
- Format and send warrior communications through the email system
- Provide regional information and insight regarding warrior, family, and caregiver population to public awareness team to help enhance communication effectiveness
- Collect, organize, and analyze data/trends from event communications to improve targeting and participation
- Attend events at the discretion of the Digital Communications Manager
- Support a variety of projects for improving departmental goals as requested
- Provide general administrative, budget, and project support for Digital Communications Manager
- Assist in strategically examining the needs of the data management system to support communication efforts and program staff needs
- Provide data management training, as needed
- Other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of business related experience required
- Minimum of three (3) years customer relations management (CRM) experience required
- Background in e-communications, copywriting, sales, marketing, or journalism preferred
- Creative agency experience helpful
