The Salesforce Administrator participates in all functions of Salesforce development life cycle utilizing TNC’s basic project management discipline.
The Salesforce Administrator designs, manages and maintains The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC’s) conservation information database built on the Salesforce.com platform. Salesforce.com (Enterprise edition) is a major information platform for TNC California and serves as an essential decision support system used regularly by senior management. The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for the implementation and integration of our SFDC instance; a complex SFDC environment, including custom and third-party applications. This is a cross-functional role that will collaborate with project managers and stakeholders across the organization to implement solutions that meet the needs of the business. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills looking to work in a fast-paced and continually evolving environment.
The Salesforce Administrator participates in all functions of Salesforce development life cycles utilizing TNC’s basic project management disciplines. The Salesforce Administrator manages and leads short-term Salesforce.com projects as assigned. They will work with the Salesforce Project Manager to establish project goals and success factors, develop project plans, and schedule with input and buy-in from key stakeholders and team members. They coordinate between sub-projects that may span across multiple TNC departments, as well as with TNC partners, vendors and volunteers. The Salesforce Administrator acts as a team member on Salesforce maintenance projects related to upgrades, conversion and modifications. They develop new applications and solutions in Salesforce according to business and system requirements following TNC methodology and development best practices. They may design and deliver trainings for TNC staff and constituents on new Salesforce based applications and processes. They act as a quality assurance analyst to validate work done within the Salesforce sandbox before release to production. They perform tasks assigned as required to complete project including design, development, running specific programs, generating reports and analyzing results. They provide support for production problems as assigned.
This individual is one of two Salesforce.com administrators who are accountable for the development, administration and technical support of the Salesforce.com platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Develop, test, and deploy solutions for various project and operational needs by gathering and documenting business requirements and designing the appropriate solutions within the Salesforce.com platform to deliver implementation projects end-to-end
- Participate in the planning and analysis of business requirements for system changes and enhancements
- Provide one-one-on end user trainings and periodic “best practices” trainings for larger groups
- Write and deliver training material or other Salesforce system support documentation
- Provide technical support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
- Stay apprised of software updates and issues and proactively communicate with impacted constituencies
- Stay apprised of emerging TNC Major System Initiative (MSI) projects and collaborate when appropriate
- Perform periodic system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all enterprise systems and key processes, reviewing system logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Act as a central point of contact for Salesforce.com development projects, maintenance and user support
- Improve the overall quality and completeness of Salesforce documentation and support procedures
- Act as Project Lead as assigned for projects. Develop accurate project plans with realistic estimates.
- Experience with full life-cycle technology application development.
