Senior Director, Business Development and Event Strategy

As part of the TNT Leadership Team, the individual in this role is accountable for new business development with the goal of introducing incremental revenue opportunities for the TNT brand. Key focus areas include sponsorship sales, new partnership development, new event(s) development, and TNT event portfolio strategy. Key activities will be oversight of the event strategy team, delivery of new strategic event based revenue opportunities and partnerships, and oversight of category sponsorship strategy for the TNT brand. Initial duties will also include working to identify key ways of working among the stakeholders, establishing new and improved planning and selection processes for endemic sponsorship, partnership, and new event based revenue opportunities.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Key accountability is oversight of the team managing and directing the relationship with current, past, and potential race partners (i.e Disney, Ironman, Lifetime, etc.)
  • Development and implementation of TNT category sponsorship sales strategy and execution
  • Development and implementation of new revenue generating partnerships for TNT in the mass participation events industry
  • Leads project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progressreporting, troubleshooting and resource management
  • Drive improvement in consistency and participant experience in the TNT event programs and implement best practices so that TNT retains and expands its position as a recognized elite training brand
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote the field and campaign fundraising initiatives
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management – Master’s Degree a plus
Skills/Experience: 
  • 7+ years industry experience in event management and successful sponsorship sales with 3 at least years producing large scale, profit generating, high-profile, world-class complex corporate and or sport conferences or events.

  • Resourceful, ability to roll up their sleeves, get the job done and troubleshoot to solve problems with little to no inconvenience or knowledge to participants and/or stakeholders
  • Experience with budgets, negotiation and sourcing
  • Employee will be expected to work some nights and weekends and be able to lift/move materials/supplies of 30 lbs or more.
  • Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
  • Travel as needed
