Direct and manage planned and ad hoc Information Technology Application projects that address the strategic and tactical systems requirements of LLS.   While making portfolio management and the IT project master plan a priority, activities will also involve supervising or participating in requirements analysis, specification, development, systems integration, business process analysis & design, test planning & evaluation; vendor/3rdparty solution identification & assessment. The scope of activities for this position primarily be Salesforce initiatives, but could also include Web initiatives, fundraising, “back office” (ERP) functions, and their integration and compliance with the Society’s information and application architecture and requires close coordination with the Society’s Systems Development, Data, and Infrastructure teams.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Document the portfolio of systems in use at LLS
  • Prepare a project master plan for active projects
  • Establish and ensure team compliance with standards for IT project and change management
  • Research & re-engineer business processes that coordinate the information flows and approvals among within Salesforce instances, as well as between Salesforce and other Society systems.
  • Develop requirements and implement appropriate systems for new patient access, donor advancement applications and business processes in the “Salesforce stack”.
  • Manage development and/or acquisition & support of domain-specific solutions for “services” business units (Marketing & Communications; Revenue Planning; Science and Research programs, etc. ) not otherwise addressed by the Society’s constituent-centric line of business systems.
  • Support other departments and user constituencies in the learning, use and leverage of all managed projects
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote the field and campaign fundraising initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Computer Science Degree a plus
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in information technology software system development and project management.
  • 2+ years or experience managing teams comprised of multiple disciplines (development, business analysis, quality assurance).
  • Experience working with user groups for developing requirements and usability testing; worked with field office network.
  • Experience managing IT projects
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience with modern system architectures, integration technologies and application development using Agile development processes.
  • Experience with SaaS platform implementations, specifically Salesforce and related technologies and services.

Position Requirements: 

  • Experienced, high-level project manager using latest information technologies.
  • Hands-on familiarity with web services architectures, protocols, tools and implementation
  • Broad analytical, management, and software development skills across all phases of the SDLC
  • Experience collaborating with highly productive IT teams.
  • Solid skills in understanding, communicating, and working with internal “customers”.
  • Strong verbal and written presentation abilities.
  • Ability to develop, monitor and meet budgets and project plans.
