The Director of Corporate Partnerships serves a critical role as liaison to key business leads at LLS headquarters in order to effectively manage 7 and 8-figure strategic corporate partnerships towards deeper engagement and investment in the mission of LLS. This position anchors multiple, cross functional internal and external teams and contributes to the overall fundraising goal for the Corporate Partnerships Team. Combining stewardship and project management, the Director of Corporate Partnerships provides high-level customer service to LLS stakeholders (LLS headquarters business units and chapters) as well as corporate and foundation decision makers to advance the mission of LLS. Reporting to the Senior Director, Healthcare Partnerships, the Director of Corporate Partnerships ensures partner satisfaction and overall partnership success through effective project management, fiscal management, budget management, and superior customer service to ensure ongoing partner support and partnership renewal and expansion.
Stewardship
- In partnership with the Senior Director, Healthcare Partnerships, stewards national corporate partners.
- Manage partner relationships for existing accounts in the portfolio.
- Contribute to corporate proposals and other written cultivation materials.
- Develop formal progress reports for each assigned account at least annually and according to partnership requirements in support of stewardship and engagement.
Customer Service
- Serve as internal partnership liaison to optimize quality of service, partner ROI, and partner satisfaction.
- Once partnership is secured (or renewed), serve as primary contact, operating in close alignment with LLS staff to ensure high renewal rates and to identify new revenue opportunities to maximize partnerships.
- Ensure fulfillment of assets and acknowledgements as described in partnership agreement and corporate benefits matrix.
- Communicate partner updates and status of partnership activations internally and externally in partner meetings as well as in formal mid-term and final reports to the partner.
- Lead regular meetings with LLS stakeholders to ensure that partner expectations are met consistently and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
Corporate Strategy
- In collaboration with Corporate Healthcare Team, develop and execute corporate partnerships stewardship, including, but not limited to:
- Development of corporate sales materials
- Management of prospect and/or portfolio cultivation events
- Execution of corporate benefits matrix
Portfolio Development
- Contribute to an ongoing process of identifying/evaluating, and tracking a comprehensive pool of corporate prospects with the potential to engage with the organization at the six-figure or greater level.
- Collaborate closely with business units in order to align corporate fundraising strategies, solicitations, and materials with organizational priorities.
- Minimum 5-7 years of corporate fundraising experience, including experience personally soliciting $100,000+ gifts.
- Proven work experience as a strategic account manager or key account manager; project management experience a plus.
- Direct experience developing solicitation strategies and/or proposals for $100,000+ gifts.
- Progressive experience in successful development programs and knowledge of “best practices” in development.
- Capacity to acquire an understanding of leukemia, lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma, as well as issues of concern to blood cancer patients and their families.
- Experience working in a matrix environment preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with establishing new strategic relationships;
- Ability to innovate and deftly apply negotiation skills;
- Demonstrated experience developing new relationships with private sector funders and socially responsible actors across multiple sectors;
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand the needs and interests of corporations as they relate to LLS;
- Ability to establish and manage trusted relationships with internal and external senior business leaders.
