Provides administrative support and diverse specialized project administration for the major gifts team in the Advancement department. Supports two Sr. Vice Presidents and eight regional Vice Presidents. The Assistant will be a key member of major gifts team responsible for supporting a strong revenue-oriented culture.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide administrative and clerical support for a remote major gifts team; serve as the Home Office point of contact for the team.
  • Support needs of the team through coordination with other departments and colleagues, located in Rye Brook and throughout the organization (Chapter staff across the country and remote staff).
  • Administer select on-going programs and/or special projects as assigned by the department.
  • Prepare major gift team for external meetings, including coordinating materials for donor interactions, meeting briefings, stewardship reports and solicitation materials.
  • Assist in the coordination and planning of internal meetings and activities, including team meetings, recruiting and new hire tasks, and advancement reports and presentations.
  • Maintains department calendar and makes travel arrangements for staff as needed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote the advancement / major gift program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma
Skills/Experience: 
  • 1-2 years administrative experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to excellence.
  • Capable of working well with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.
  • Highly organized and professional demeanor.
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving acumen.
  • A team player committed to working within a collaborative environment and ensuring the highest level of customer service.
  • Computer skills including MS Office Suite and database programs; Proficient in business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
