The YMCA of Greater Williamson County is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team of professionals as a full-time District wide Program Director for the Y Afterschool programs in Round Rock, TX. The YMCA of Greater Williamson County Y Afterschool Department has an annual budget of over $12 million and serves approximately 5,000 children per day in 70+ school-based sites throughout 5 school districts. Williamson continues to be one of the fastest growing counties in the country. The YMCA of Greater Williamson County Youth Development programs such as Afterschool, Day Camp and the Preschool at the Y program are growing right along with it making the YMCA the largest provider of childcare in our community.

Program Director responsibilities include licensing, accreditation, staff training/hiring, curriculum implementation, and marketing of school age and summer day camp enrichment programs. This position will give leadership to the growth of current enrichment programs and expansion to new enrichment sites. Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and supervising multiple enrichment programs, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for the enrichment programs while meeting enrollment and revenue goals.  This position reports to the District Executive Director of Y Afterschool.   The successful candidate will work to create an effective communication process between the schools districts and the YMCA related to enrichment programming. 

Success of this position requires the ability to lead staff and volunteers in areas of program development. This position requires someone who is highly motivated, organized, personable and enthusiastic. This position requires a thorough understanding of Texas Department of Family & Protective Services (TDFPS) state standards. Incumbent must have the ability and skills needed to administer the operation policies and procedures of the state and the YMCA. The incumbent must have skills in planning, organizing, training, relationship building, and problem solving and managing multiple priorities.

Educational Background: 
A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or communications preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a managerial/supervisory role in a childcare program; preferably an Afterschool program.
  • Strong human relation skills and written/verbal communication skills are required.
  • This position requires the ability to plan, develop, organize, manage and administer tasks.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Required Certifications

  • Candidates must meet Child Care Director Standards set by both YMCA Licensed Child Care and the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services.
  • Must be able to pass reference checks, criminal history check, sex offender registry, and FBI fingerprint background check.
  • CPR and New Hire Orientation completed within first 30 days
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $36,000.00 - $39,000.00
