Under the general direction of the COO, this position is accountable for the successful management of the Carlson Metro Center Branch and Carlson Metro Child Care Center.  In addition, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall supervision, leadership and operations of the Lewis Street Child Care Center and Maplewood Branch.  The Urban District Executive Director is responsible for revenue growth, fiscal management, financial development, facility management, hiring, training and supervision of staff at each of these locations.  The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Overall responsibility for Carlson Metro Center branch and Carlson Metro Center Child Care and provide support to operations at the Lewis Street Child Care Center and Maplewood branch.
  • Responsible for general oversight of youth development programs and services in accordance with the policies, values, and standards established by the Association and OCFS.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, supervision, and continued development of staff teams.
  • Responsible for facilitating growth and overall enhancement of the branch's programs and services.
  • Create a strong and positive work environment and act as an assertive leader at all times.
  • Implement and maintain consistency in service standards and functional processes across branches.
  • Assist in preparation of annual income and expense budget. Administer the budget and exercise necessary controls to assure operations are maintained within approved budget.
  • Monitor all departmental programs and services through regular visitation of sites, hands-on leadership, and implementation of appropriate evaluation tools.
  • Provide oversight to all locations to guarantee facilities meet required standards and guidelines as set forth in YMCA expectations and standards.
  • Ensure all on-site programs are managed in accordance with the policies, values, and standards established by the Association.
  • Responsible for the financial development of Annual Campaign to ensure branches are meeting or exceeding campaign goal.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with community agencies, corporations, and potential donors.
  • Work with branch board members and volunteers as required. Lead and participate in all Branch Board and Committee meetings.
  • Maintain all required certifications.
  • Attend all required meetings and training.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Background: 
A bachelor’s degree and at least seven years’ YMCA experience or equivalent non-profit management experience. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least five years’ experience in a supervisory role with skills in recruiting, training and staff management.
  • Possess knowledge of Office of Children and Family Services procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Must be self-motivated, hands on team leader with strong communications, networking and collaboration skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and quality of programming, service and facilities.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Polished, professional demeanor with excellent written and spoken communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue and managing expenses.
  • Experience in fundraising and individual gift solicitation and cultivation
  • Must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00
