Under the general direction of the Urban District Executive Director, this position is accountable for the successful management of the Maplewood Branch. The Executive Director is responsible for revenue growth, fiscal management, financial development, facility management, hiring, training and supervision of staff of this branch.  The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Overall responsibility for Maplewood branch.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, supervision, and continued development of all staff under positions umbrella.  Provide leadership and support to department leadership.
  • As necessary, act as a liaison between member and program regarding parent or participant concerns and work as the key leader to assure that a safe, fun and quality program is provided in all areas.
  • Responsible for financial development of Annual Campaign.
  • Responsible for facilitating revenue growth and overall enhancement and increase of programs and services.   
  • Responsible for the overall facility appearance, grounds, and related equipment.
  • Accountable for branch budget development and management.  Ensure a strong fiscal position and appropriate resource allocation.
  • Ensure programs and services are in accordance with the policies, values, and standards established by the Association, OCFS and New York State Accreditation Standards.
  • Ensure all program operations are consistent with Association procedures, including maintenance, emergency, accident, purchasing, personnel, and accounting systems. 
  • Implement programs that identify safety, quality, and excellent customer service as top priorities.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with community agencies, corporations, and potential donors. 
  • Work with branch board members, volunteers as required.  Lead and participate in all Branch Board and Committee meetings.  
  • Maintain all required certifications.
  • Attend all required meetings and training.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Background: 
A bachelor’s degree and at least seven years’ YMCA experience or equivalent non-profit
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least five years’ experience in a supervisory role with skills in recruiting, training and staff management.
  • Possess knowledge of Office of Children and Family Services procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Must be self-motivated, hands on team leader with strong communications, networking and collaboration skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and quality of programming, service and facilities.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Polished, professional demeanor with excellent written and spoken communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue and managing expenses.
  • Experience in fundraising and individual gift solicitation and cultivation
  • Must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $63,000.00 - $68,000.00
