Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Coordinator of Annual Giving will be responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of the Westside YMCA’s annual giving program.  The Coordinator will spend approximately 50 percent of their time managing the logistics and related activities for the year-round branch Annual Campaign.  They will spend the other 50 percent of their time personally cultivating and soliciting donors at all levels, including $1,000+ donors and sponsors.  Working closely with high-level branch volunteers and YMCA staff, the Coordinator must ensure that the monetary goal is met or exceeded each year. The Coordinator will have responsibility for working closely with the other branch coordinators, as needed.  The Coordinator will serve as a coach to all the branch staff to ensure that best practices are followed and that fundraising is occurring throughout the entire year. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • The Coordinator will be responsible for meeting the branch financial goal of the Annual Campaign, as well as strive to exceed the overall campaign goal for Association growth.
  • The Coordinator will take a lead role in personally soliciting an increasing number of branch leadership donors — Chairman’s Roundtable and Triangle Society.  Achieve 100% Branch Board participation with a goal of $1,000 average gift.
  • The Coordinator will be responsible for at least ten leadership gift solicitations each month and increasing the member-to-donor conversion rate at the branch.
  • The Coordinator will actively work on an individual basis with the branch Board and volunteers to assist in reaching their established campaign goals.  The Coordinator will also help the Executive Director solicit identified top prospects. S/he will also help the Executive Director of the Branch identify, recruit, and solicit volunteers as part of the branch Board.
  • The Coordinator will be a coach and mentor for branch staff and volunteers related to all aspects of fundraising and will demonstrate best practices in the field.
  • The Coordinator will work directly with the branch staff person responsible for gift processing and donor information.
  • The Coordinator will work the Association Development Database Specialist to produce and analyze reports related to the branch annual campaign with the objective to identify the top 50 prospects and grow the annual fund.
  • The Coordinator will work collaboratively with the other Coordinators of Annual Giving and the Association Office of Development staff.
  • Will fulfill institutional donor reporting requirements, and coordinate with branch or Association staff for timely donor recognition.
  • Attend all required meetings and training.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree and two to five years of professional experience in development or a closely related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated success in fund raising and individual gift solicitation and cultivation.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to present before large groups, interact with high-level donors, and to represent the Y in a professional and appealing manner to all prospective donors, volunteers, staff, and in the community.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a fast-paced team environment is critical.
  • The successful candidate must have a personal vehicle and the ability to travel locally on a consistent basis.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $19.00 - $21.00
