The YMCA is hiring a Sr staff accountant for their Finance Department in Ridgewood NJ.

Under the direct supervision of the Sr VP of Finance, the Staff Accountant will assist the Sr VP of Finance with payroll and Accounts Payable functions for 2 branches of the Ridgewood YMCA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Enter new hires, pay rates, labor allocations, set up deductions, taxes, benefit accruals, etc.
  • Manage time and attendance system, main contact for staff to assist with any issues/questions
  • Maintain employee records, process employee changes, adjustments, and manual checks
  • Run reports, analyze variances and reach out to supervisors for explanation
  • Help prepare monthly financial statements
  • Review Daxko Operations and bank statements to create entries as needed
  • Record overhead allocation, revenue and expense accruals, retirement, and payroll entries
  • Approve payables
  • Maintain investment, interest, and fixed asset schedules
  • Assist SVP with projections, cash flows, and budgeting
  • Reconcile bank accounts and multiple balance sheet accounts
  • Meet with program directors to review P/L statement and budget variances
  • Other assignments as needed
Educational Background: 
BS Degree in Accounting
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting related position
  • Microsoft Excel and Word, Office 365
  • Prefer experience with PAYCOR payroll and Daxko software, but not mandatory
