The Program Director will be responsible for the planning, implementation and supervision of all branch wellness and membership programs. Specific wellness responsibilities include developing and implementing innovative wellness programming; overseeing the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of membership, wellness, personal training, and group exercise staff; working with members to assist them in reaching their wellness goals; and oversight of the wellness floor and equipment. Additionally, this position will lead the Membership Team, promoting memberships with businesses in the Downtown Richmond community. As the Program Director leading the branch, the Director will work closely and collaboratively with other departments to engage members and provide excellent service, as well as partnering with community groups to design and implement wellness and membership initiatives.

Educational Background: 
A bachelor's degree in a wellness and/or membership related field is preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least two years of related experience in wellness is required and membership management experience preferred.
  • Experience in marketing and sales preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal abilities and computer proficiency are necessary.
  • Supervisory and staff coaching experience essential.
  • Candidates must be able to train and evaluate staff on proper exercise instruction.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid required.
  • Willingness to obtain wellness certifications to include, National Personal Training certification such as ACSM, ACE, and CSCS preferred; ACE or AFAA Group Exercise certification preferred.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $40,000.00
