The board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada seeks an inspiring CEO with strengths in strategy, operations and relationship-building that can coalesce to expand and sustain the agency’s impact on at-risk youth, their families, and our community, while ensuring the quality of mentoring for which the agency is already well known.
Areas of Responsibility:
The New CEO will be Tasked with:
- Increasing individual giving from XX% of total annual revenue to XX% of total annual revenue.
- Creating a contingency plan for the agency’s Donation Center which relies upon a contractual agreement with Savers Thrift Stores.
- Growing the number of youth served annually by 3%; identifying new opportunities to serve youth; implement and evaluate new and existing programs.
- Projecting a passionate, articulate and persuasive image for the agency within the community that clearly sets the agency apart from the Boys & Girls Club.
Skills/Experience:
- A proven business or nonprofit leader with a demonstrated commitment to young people and their development;
- A community-facing leader ambitious for the mission, respectful of staff, nurturing of donors and volunteers and fundamentally committed to children;
- A strategically minded CEO with the tactical sense to make bold goals tangible, who is experienced at taking ideas and entities to scale;
- A successful fundraiser with demonstrated success in securing large financial gifts from diverse funding sources;
- A leader with demonstrated business acumen in terms of developing and monitoring budgets, overseeing revenues and expenditures, and monitoring and anticipating cash flow needs;
- A “connector” who is comfortable and successful in building networks of community partners, brand and market, and who can enhance visibility to attract funds, volunteers, clients, and broad public support;
- A governance-savvy executive who knows how to embrace the board as a true strategic asset;
- An articulate speaker who can make the case for a sustainable financial model; a CEO at ease demonstrating the return on social investment that the agency generates for the community.
Compensation/Benefits:
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience. Other compensation components include:
