The Marketing Director supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.The Marketing Director is responsible for strategically implementing marketing material and writing content to strengthen the visibility, reputation, and impact of our YMCA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Articulate a clear vision for the mission and goals of the YMCA of the East Valley which inspire our community to join the YMCA as members.
  • Provide leadership in extending the YMCA into online and social media spaces including email marketing, social media management, advertising, networking and community management.
  • Develop strategies to grow and engage audiences via online platforms (social media).
  • Assist in the planning, creation and management of the YMCA social media plans and oversees the project management and implementation of social media for the YMCA of /the East Valley.
  • Conducts and consults on any PR (media), creative writing, graphic design work and publishing of content as necessary.
  • Assume a lead role in publishing annual reports, previews, newsletters, website and other key marketing pieces
  • Coordinate graphic design/creative development for print and electronic marketing efforts
  • Develop content for outbound communications, including websites, newsletters, online advertising, print advertising and sales materials
  • Research, write and submit press releases, pitch story ideas and assist in raising the visibility of the YMCA
  • Maintain collegial working relationships with media contacts and other key constituencies
  • Help manage direct mail campaigns including developing themes, organizing mailings, tracking results and coordinating with inside personnel
  • Actively participate in training as appropriate
  • Guide other projects and efforts as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Follow YMCA personnel policies, practices, salary administration plan, emergency procedures and risk management procedures.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • High-level skill and up to date with industry-leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in creating and executing motivating and effective digital and visual communications, with a supporting creative portfolio.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of creation of email and web page design (HTML, Word Press).
  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines.
  • Must have experience with graphic design, HTML, desktop and website publishing, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and Macromedia Contribute a plus.
  • 2-3 years related background in marketing, public relations, communications, advertising, product management or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in a not-for-profit organization preferred.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $49,920.00 - $54,080.00
