Excellent opportunity to lead a highly reputable, innovative and proficient program staff team that passionately pursues excellence in this mission-driven YMCA. This position is responsible for community-based programs that meet key community needs related to the achievement gap, early learning equity, food insecurity and more through such programs as afterschool, camping, early childhood education, youth and teen outreach, mentoring and more. This includes strategically leading comprehensive staff and volunteer leadership development efforts along with building community partnerships in support of key programs.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The COO is responsible to the CEO for the development, organization, promotion, supervision, innovation and evaluation of YMCA programs with emphasis on community-based programs. This includes:

  • Program Development: Lead program staff in developing, implementing and evaluating major programs in afterschool, early childhood, camp, food, outreach and aquatics.
  • Leadership Development: Lead comprehensive training program for all Y staff.
  • Fiscal Management: Assist in developing program budgets and monitoring financial performance.
  • Reporting: Monitor key metrics to established benchmarks.
  • Community Relations: Building and maintain strategic partnerships toward providing programs.
  • Executive Function: Serve as CEO pro-tem in the ansence of the CEO.
Educational Background: 
Must have a four-year degree in management or a related field or at least six years of equivalent work experience.  
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must have exceptional human relations and decision-making skills, the ability and foresight to develop existing and/or new programs to further the YMCA mission, coaching high quality staff leadership, upholding financial responsibility and be growth-oriented.
  • Must have a history of excellence in building strategic partnerships.
  • Must be a strong advocate of the YMCA mission and must exhibit the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $71,000.00 - $76,000.00
