Manager, Corps Member Experience and Operations

The Manager of Corps Member Experience & Operations will play an important role in helping the Eastern North Carolina Program Continuum team reach their ambitious goals for leadership development and student impact by working closely with members of the team to design and implement a plan for strengthening corps-wide culture, communication and connection. This strategic plan will be aligned to our organizational foundations and regional Theory of Leadership Development and you will be charged with building the systems and structures that will position the team to execute the plan with consistency and fidelity. You will create innovative strategies for building culture virtually and creating platforms for communications that inspire, connect and inform our entire corps. You also manage the execution and logistics of corps member facing events, including learning and leadership summits and social events. You supportProgram Continuum staff by providing effective and efficient ways to use multiple forms of data, including managing the regional use of the Program Tracker. 

This is a hybrid role of creating the systems and strategies for region-wide corps culture and communication to flourish and to provide operational support for the Program Continuum team, ensuring we have the information systems and structures necessary to strengthen alignment of our program and deepen learning.  You are charged with developing user-designed and innovative approaches to ensure corps members have access to the information and ongoing engagement that positions them to see themselves as part of a larger community and feel known and celebrated. You will work closely with the SMD, Program Continuum and other members of the Program Continuum team to create strong communication and culture systems to keep the team informed and streamline organizational systems.  Additionally, you will work with Program Continuum leadership to design and implement systems for team-wide information sharing and learning to drive our collective impact.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Program Continuum Team Culture & Communication (25%)

  • Create systems for information collection, sharing and engagement for Program Continuum team: collect and write content to ensure all team members are informed of pertinent information, next steps, priorities, and action items
  • Ensure systems and structures are working for team and adjust with team as needed
  • Collaborate with SMD, Program Continuum and broader team to determine scope and sequence of Program Continuum meetings; create agendas and prepare materials when needed
  • Maintain regional program calendar to ensure accuracy of program events, key school/district dates, team meetings, etc.
  • Manage Program Continuum team Budget: approve and track expenses, maintain systems for Program Continuum team-wide submission and budget tracking; coordinate with regional team budget tracker to ensure Program Continuum team compliance
  • Support scheduling for internal meetings
  • Capture celebrations and stories of impact and create systems for sharing consistently with team
  • Provide operational and logistical support for special projects

Program Continuum Team Strategy & Systems (20%)

  • Collaborate with SMD, Program Continuum to develop strategic planning process for program team
  • Manage all corps member and alumni data maintenance to ensure updated and accurate information about our corps members, alumni  and program team progress to goal
  • Ensure consistent utilization of regional systems (i.e. Program Tracker, TFACT)
  • Provide direct training and support to team members about how to use regional data systems and tools when appropriate
  • Design and manage process and communications for national corps member survey completion
  • Generate regional strategy and system for regularly roll-up progress to goal (PTG) reports to share with program team
  • Ensure systems are streamlined and efficient for sharing information and data requests
  • Collaborate with GDP team as needed to build understanding of needed information and data

Corps Member Engagement & Communications (40%)

  • Create, support and manage structures for corps member learning experiences throughout the year and ensure consistent communication structures are aligned to our broader program strategy
  • Create/collaborate on vision for events, including regional Summits, Induction, End of Year Celebration, Kickoff and other special events.
  • Create and manage structures for team input for events and prepare the team to execute
  • Manage and build vendor relationships
  • Design and manage project plans to ensure high-quality event execution
  • Develop systems and structures for corps member communication and corps-wide culture building in collaboration with programteam members
  • Design and execute innovative and strategic corps member communication and engagement plan (including but not limited to the use of social media, corps member blast, google sites, social events and virtual engagements)
  • Invest program team members in corps member engagement strategy and laterally manage toward engagement goals

Regional Team Responsibilities (15%):

  • Participate in corps member selection (about 4 days total throughout the year)
  • Matriculate new corps members during 4-5 confirmation windows throughout the year
  • Staff large-scale regional events and conferences, often times for a whole day or multiple days at a time, including some Saturdays.
  • Attend and participate in all-staff meetings, retreats, small team cohorts, and step backs throughout the year
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree required
Skills/Experience:

  • Analyzing data to draw accurate conclusions and to inform team management approach
  • Making informed, timely decisions and using sound judgment to prioritize actions

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and to juggle several projects at once with a spirit of flexibility and positive outlook

  • Inspiring committed and positive action toward individual and organizational goals
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience required
  • Demonstrated success managing projects and/or logistics projects
  • Teach For America alumni preferred

Work Demands

  • Occasional travel is required
  • Occasional work on weekends to execute professional development
