The VP of Financial Development is responsible for endowment and planned giving functions throughout the YMCA of the Triangle. They are charged with providing outstanding leadership, education, counsel and consulting services to the branches of the YMCA of the Triangle Association with a primary focus on growing endowment and planned giving. The VP of Financial Development will be assigned relationship management for the Y with intentional focus on major gifts and in growing the Y’s planned giving efforts and the Y’s endowment. They will act as the internal expert on planned giving. They are responsible for managing all functions of the job in accordance with the stated policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.
- Supervises the endowment and planned giving aspects of the YMCA Financial Development Program ensuring that the standards for the department and the operations of all functions meet association objectives.
- Develops the principles and practices and implementation of the endowment and planned giving program throughout the association.
- Ensures that all Y camps and branches have adequate support, training, and strategies to accomplish their financial development goals in endowment and planned giving.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Holds a portfolio of major gift relationships and participates in the Financial Development Department’s Relationship Management process.
- Convenes and presides over select association committees, cabinets and task forces ensuring outstanding education, communication, training and compliance in all aspects of financial development.
- Serves as the YMCA’s liaison to the United Way, North American YMCA Development Organization (NAYDO) and other critical association partners as assigned.
- Builds relationships with and stewards a portfolio of 150 – 200 donors, volunteers and prospective supporters of the YMCA.
- Represents the Association Development Department at Branch and Association Board and Advisory Group Meetings, and at select association committee meetings and events.
- Acts as a major gifts officer with specific, targeted financial goals determined in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer.
- Supervises assigned department staff members.
- Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Other duties and responsibilities assigned by Association leadership.
- Salary Range Mid 70's to High 80's.
- Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to relate to top community leaders.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Exceptional written, and oral communication skills. High comfort level with public speaking.
- Multi-lingual desired but not required.
