Under the direction of the Sr Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Business Analyst has accountability for all functions related to research, selection, and compilation of financial data from multiple sources, such as membership, accounting, vendors, etc.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching and consulting to identified regions and specific program areas with regard to building their budget and monitoring performance.
  • Create a plan to evaluate and improve performance in secondary program lines (i.e. adult wellness programs, nursery) with branch staff and Association leadership.
  • Support Associate Executives across the Association and the work of all staff in emerging markets as they plan and monitor success.
  • Cultivate awareness and instill a confidence in Sr. Branch staff of how business principles should be utilized in operational decision making
  • Verify that data is accurate and data sources are reputable
  • Within specific program areas and regions create evidence-based tools to help our Y lead by looking forward, not by looking at the past.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance, and lead where appropriate, in the development, testing and implementation of Association KPIs, Dashboarding and operational reports across all business lines.
  • Provide assistance in the creation of budget templates and analytical reports in Host (planning software).
  • Collaborate with Sr. Branch Staff to evaluate business decisions for their community
  • Analyze market data in support of a coordinated regional approach to programming and community service
  • Support the pricing process of all Y programs and membership functions for the Association, utilizing advanced pricing tools and metrics to maximize our revenue and our service to the community.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, work flow and business processes
  • Analyze and estimate feasibility and compatibility with other programs and projects
  • Support the measurable impact and ability to track effectiveness of Association and Branch initiatives. Provide coordination and leadership for other project team members as needed.
  • Provide quality control for project deliverables
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure the Association Business Plan is executed fully.
  • Support the development of a comprehensive plan to manage Contributed Income allocations and community-based, in-kind giving in order to maximize the Y’s money, meet the most needs possible, and allow for dignity with every applicant.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in business  administration or related discipline
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5 years’ experience working in finance, management, or a related field
  • Business analysis and project management experience is required
  • Strong communication skills - including written and oral communication as well as presentation skills; ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts  to a diverse and varied audience
