We can envision three types of leaders that would serve this next chapter:
- An Expert in Operations and Change Management
- A Relationship Builder and Communicator
- A Visionary for Artistic/Creative Production
You do NOT have to represent all three types, as the Executive Director can hire/contract to round out gaps among staff. However, an entrepreneurial mindset is essential to identify new opportunities, overcome challenges, and achieve outcomes. The Executive Director will have the support of the Co-Founders to shape staffing and strategy to build on past successes and respond to the future.
The Executive Director’s responsibilities will include the following:
- Programming Strategy – Set the trajectory for how the content/products reach markets/audiences
- Business Model – Refine sales strategy for earned income and continue success of grants and donations
- Relationships – Deepen existing partnerships and define approach for expanding to new collaborators
- Content Creation – Hone the stories that are produced and chart new directions for artistic/creative production
- People Management – Provide day-to-day leadership for three existing full-time staff and numerous vendors to boost efficiency, and hire to scale-up operations
- Financial Oversight – Develop and monitor the annual budget
- Board Development – Collaborate with and grow the Board of Directors
Salary: $110,000 (full-time/exempt) + benefits (30 PTO/sick days, 80% employer-covered health insurance with dental/vision, etc)
