The Marketing Manager builds enthusiasm and inspires action on behalf of nature. With an appreciation for collaboration and drive to see projects through to completion, the Manager develops, creates and implements plans, campaigns and materials that align with the strategic priorities of the Oregon Chapter. As a part of the statewide external affairs team, the Marketing Manager helps increase awareness, create excitement, and deepen engagement with environmentally conscious Oregonians. The Marketing Manager is instrumental in maintaining the communications production calendar, curating and crafting inspiring stories highlighting our work in Oregon and beyond, and tracking results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Marketing Manager crafts and implements strategic marketing campaigns and delivers work across multiple channels and forms of communication to engage existing and new supporters, share key messages and meet marketing and conservation objectives. Creativity, great writing and innovative thinking allow the Marketing Manager to execute effective and memorable campaigns which build awareness, affinity and support. Working closely with various constituents including senior staff, field offices, philanthropy staff, other department, division and global staff, vendors, and other key stakeholders, the Marketing Manager ensures timely delivery of projects and marketing materials that compellingly convey the relevancy and value of The Nature Conservancy to target audiences, helping to grow awareness and support. Manages and/or carries out the day–to–day tasks of the program. Demonstrated development and use of creative and innovative approaches to marketing campaigns.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Manage and serve as team lead on assigned projects.
- May supervise professional and/or administrative staff.
- Manage assigned budget, evaluate results and develop recommendations for corrective strategies as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum 7 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience storytelling and creating compelling copy that appeals to a variety of audiences.
- Experience leading and collaborating in a team - based environment with internal and/or external clients.
- Experience implementing and managing multiple complex projects on time and in budget.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing content and production calendars.
- Demonstrated cross - channel competency – able to execute marketing campaigns across all digital platforms (email, web, social media) as well as at events, in print, paid media and other formats.
- Strategic approach to reaching target audiences including experience with paid media.
- Experience evaluating and adapting marketing strategies based on performance metrics.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, SiteCatalyst, Sprout Social.
- Experience managing websites with content management systems and managing social media accounts.
- Demonstrated experience in developing strategic, high quality marketing products and materials as well as familiarity with creative processes.
- Ability to translate technical information into compelling and understandable communication.
- Experience leading outreach events to targeted audiences (e.g. youth)
- Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
