The Residential Director oversees the management of the residential program for the Greater Portland YMCA, ensuring support to a diverse group of residents living in affordable housing. The position requires a motivated and resourceful individual who is sensitive to resident needs; has excellent service coordination, team building, and group facilitation skills; and can thrive in a relatively independent environment.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social Work or related field OR combination of education/experience in coordinating community resources and social services for individuals.
Skills/Experience:
- Experience in community-organizing and community-building, especially working with culturally diverse populations.
- Property Management experience in affordable housing.
- Ability to speak languages other than English a plus.
- Knowledge of local and government resources and services.
- Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, the needs of low-income housing residents.
- Prior experience in services planning and implementation.
- Prior experience with property management and/or resident services
- Knowledge of public benefits.
- Proficient knowledge of a Windows environment, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to effectively communicate in person and on the phone with all levels of employees and members.
- Ability to work with frequent interruption, possess excellent organizational skills and maintain attention to detail.
- Extremely reliable, dependable, and punctual.
- Good decision-making skills.
- Ability to take initiative and be resourceful and creative.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel locally.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $48,000.00 - $53,000.00
