Provides guidance, materials, and support for promotion, sales, marketing and retention for membership, and all Y programs, activities, special events and philanthropy. Serves as webmaster and electronic communications expert. Trains staff in the use of marketing and communications tools and strategies. This position also reviews and approves all flyers, signage and social media posts for the association.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Serves as YMCA Brand Advocate and assures Membership Standards are maintained
- Assist in implementing an annual strategic and tactical marketing integrated communications plan, consistent with the Y’s brand and voice, to build and inform target audiences, as well as to promote local and national campaigns and events
- Proof reads and approves YMCA communication for grammar, content, branding compliance, and consistent messaging
- Approves and distributes press releases and print material for marketing purposes
- In collaboration with branch and association staff, reviews and approves high- quality marketing and communications materials and templates to support Y’s programs and services
- Maintains media contact list
- Serves as Webmaster and eCommunications expert in collaboration with branch and association staff keeps websites current and relevant, ensuring ease of use and access, expanding electronic marketing and communication tools
- Provides training and support to Digital Experience Specialists at each branch
- Coordinates with the Y USA on all National Initiatives
- Supports and encourages application of Y USA Best Practices
- Maintains positive vendor relationships
- Places orders with vendors for branded shirts, business cards, stationary, signage and award
Educational Background:
High school diploma, associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
Skills/Experience:
- 21 years of age or older
- Experience in website content management
- Strong knowledge of and interest in new technology, social media, marketing and communications
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, InDesign, Google Analytics, e-mail and Internet
- Ability to create a comprehensive marketing plan for multiple locations with a team
- Ability to review, create and write reports, flyers and correspondence
- Excellent written and verbal and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong follow-up skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Pass a comprehensive background check
- Attends staff meetings and training's as required and completes all on-line training's which include child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire
- Upholds YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting and risk management. Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youths
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $35,800.00 - $37,500.00
