Youth Development, Program Site Coordinators will work for the Youth Development Department, which includes Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) Program and Day Camp. Peak season for BASE is fall/spring school year. Peak season for day camp summer season. Youth Development, Program Site Coordinators will provide branch-staffing support for events related to youth and family programming at the branch.

Youth Development, Program Site Coordinators are responsible for the day-to-day operations of program activities. This includes direct supervision of program participants, delivery of program curriculum, activity planning. This also includes implementing and maintaining Department of Human Services (DHS) regulations and Keystone STARS standards for BASE and/or Day Camp.

Youth Development, Program Site Coordinators will supervise full time Lead Teachers and part time staff for BASE and Day Camp. Hiring manger duties includes working with HR on recruitment, hiring, reference checks and providing new hires a good onboarding experience. In addition, Youth Development, Program Site coordinators will be responsible for staff retention to ensure ratio coverage.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Collaborate with Regional Directors & Youth and Family Program Directors to serve as effective boots on the ground operators for BASE and Day Camp.
  • Maintain compliance with all Department of Human Services (DHS) licensing requirements and Keystone STARS requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining and monitoring compliance with the staff training
  • Work in concert with HR to recruit, screen and onboard full time & part-time staff.
  • Train, supervise and evaluate performance of full and part-time staff.
  • Ensure that developmental programming is provided to the children, including activity plans, social activities, physical activities and crafts.
  • Maintain complete current records for children so that they are in compliance with DHS regulations.
  • Hold regularly scheduled staff meetings with part-time program staff.
  • Purchase and/or coordinate the purchase of program supplies and materials as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain strong parent and volunteer relationships to support the everyday operations, special activities, and quality improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with school district staff, including ongoing communication.
  • Ensure program coverage for both morning and afternoon program hours as per DHS regulations, including ratios.
  • Ensure that the setup and cleanup of the program and equipment in maintained on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage all program safety procedures and protocols as per YMCA and School District policies.
  • Maintain awareness of school calendars, including snow days and in service days to potentially provide school day out programming.
  • Assist with program implementation coverage for special branch events
Educational Background: 
BS/BA in ECE/equivalent degree preferred (DHS degree requirements candidates will be given preference)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Will consider candidates with a degree in related field including 30 ECE credits
  • Education Credentials must meet the DHS requirements.
  • 2 years’ experience with youth
  • First AID/CPR/AED
  • Required Clearances (Must have valid clearances prior to starting)
  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Travel to and from sites required (may be required to fill in at different locations based on ratio requirements.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $23,985.00 - $35,977.00
