The Director of Operations is responsible for supervising, developing and documenting business processes, identify challenges, provide recommendations for improvement, and develop functional system requirements. He/she leads and ensures the maintenance of all aspects of project management including creating and maintaining project timeline, conducting regular status meetings, coordinating resources and task assignments, and assisting in areas such as data strategy and validation, user acceptances and end-to-end testing.  This individual will participate and/or lead interviews for the purpose of requirement gathering in order to align organization’s goals and objectives to strategic solutions including technology.This is a position that involves both mentoring, supervision and direct hands-on performance as needed.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Project Management:

Define project scope, goals and deliverables for all operations within LASA.

Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects from beginning to end.

Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents in coordination with the Communications Director.

Successfully engage in and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously

Effectively communicate project status and issues to top management and project team members.

Understand expectations and recognize when issues may affect delivery

Manage changes in project scope, identify potential risk and devise contingency plans

Provide project management for multiple projects for multiple stakeholders at the same time.

Business Analysis

Conduct operational business and technical interviews to understand what the organization does and how it operations.

Develop process and data flow diagrams

Identify challenges in processes, opportunities for improvements and automation

Develop functional and technical requirements specifications

Develop and write technology assessment reports

Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Educational Background: 
Masters in Business / Management
Masters in Information Systems / Technology
Project Management certification
Skills/Experience: 

10+ years of experience in business operations or information technology with at least 5 years of experience in association / foundation / non profit organizations 

8 + years of experience with Project Management experience including the ability to create and maintain project plans, run project management meetings and manage tasks and resources for complex projects involving many different participants at the national and international level.

Hands-on knowledge of Office 365 tools

Familiarity with database use and query retrieval is very convenient

Strong analytic and problem solving skills

Spanish and English proficient. Portuguese desired.

Able to work independently and assume responsibility for major project deliverables with minimal supervision

Detail oriented with strong communication and organizational skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Working knowledge of Web content management systems

Experience with data analysis, information architecture and management policies

Excellent customer service skills and international cultural sensitivity

Compensation/Benefits:
