We are seeking a strong and experienced professional to ensure the continued development and success of our youth enrichment programs across our entire Association. This newly created role will oversee the total operation of $7 million in Before and After School programmatic revenue and provide leadership and supervision of Regional Child Care Directors. This role will focus on stabilization of Before and After School sites, ratio compliance, program development and quality, safety and customer service.
Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Youth Enrichment, the Association Director of Youth Enrichment will provide leadership and supervision of Regional Child Care Directors. This role will focus on stabilization of BASE, Ratio, quality programming, safety, and customer service. The Association Director of Youth Enrichment will also assist the AVP of Youth Enrichment with leadership tasks as it relates to day camp.
This role will collaborate with Director of Program Registration and Compliance on DHS matters and Safety Director on program site safety standards.
All full-time positons that fall under youth enrichment will have duties related to both Day Camp and BASE.
- Effectively attracts, leads, supervises, manages, trains and motivates staff to ensure ratio compliance and employee retention. Ensures staff are meeting performance expectations. Maintaining a high standard of accountability and transparency in leadership is essential.
- Collaborates with the AVP of Youth Enrichment on budgeting for the department including setting pricing of programs for the department
- Collaborates with HR, Marketing and other Association departments.
- Develop and implement SOP’s, policies, training materials, marketing materials, tracking tools and reports.
- Facilitates quality results in operations while working through the staff on service delivery. These may include childcare licensing, safety guidelines and adhering to childcare required ratios.
- Use Listen First skills to respond to member feedback, suggestions and complaints (as appropriate).
- Abide by the onboarding processes and procedures as defined by the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Human Resources team. This includes, but is not limited to the submission of all paperwork and criminal clearances to the satisfaction of the HR Team PRIOR to a staff member reporting to a site for work.
- Meet timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance. Examples include but are not limited to Dayforce HCM for review and approval of employee time sheets and timely submission of credit card statement coding and supporting documentation to Accounts Payable.
- Conducts program site visits to ensure consistent, quality programming is being delivered.
- Create/conduct parent surveys with the assistance from the Business Systems Analyst’s to improve program quality and retention.
- Able to create and instruct programs related to staffing needs in the field.
- Builds relationships with parents, kids, schools, and staff, throughout programs
- Assist with ratio coverage in emergencies

- Candidates must have final Criminal Clearance certificates prior to starting employment. This includes PA Criminal Certificate, NSOR Verification, PA FBI - Use Code: 1kg738 and PA Child Abuse.
Required Certifications
- Three to four years of supervision required. Preference is supervison of a full time team/department.
- Must have three years’ experience in program development along with strong knowledge, skills and ability to lead/manage Before/After school and Day Camp.
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must have flexible schedule to address program issues
Salary: $54,238.00 - $81,356.00
