This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The IT Director manages all aspects of information technology including networks, systems, security, and controls. The IT Director is responsible for researching and implementing new technologies, maintaining the technology infrastructure, establishing best practices, and maximizing return on technology investments.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages and oversees all aspects of information technology. Develops and manages system security, disaster recovery planning, and implements technology training, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for the evaluation and procurement of all hardware and software for the organization.
- Evaluates issues pertaining to information systems for strategic planning and innovation.
- Researches areas of technology that relate to the YMCAs needs and makes recommendations.
- Develops and monitors budgets related to information technology. Monitors the costs involved in maintaining and improving information systems. Evaluates and recommends technology purchases based on the YMCA’s needs and business objectives.
- Recommends process improvements and modifications to streamline provisioning of services, reduce delivery times, reduce incidents, and lower overall cost of services.
- Supervises IT department staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Manages relationships with technology vendors and volunteers.
- Ensures that timely and effective technology support is provided to YMCA staff on an ongoing basis.
- Ensures proper operating procedures are in place and followed related to information technology.
- Provides Windows support, network troubleshooting, system imaging, and system configuration.
- Monitors support requests and ensures that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Works through problems systematically, updating internal documentation as needed.
- Sets the standards for hardware, software, and systems configurations.
- Provisions access for users and computers in Active Directory, Office 365, and SaaS applications.
- Maintains inventory of all equipment, software, and licenses.
- Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field.
Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in a technology management role.
- Thorough knowledge of Windows operating systems and working knowledge of Android and iOS.
- Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP.
- Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policy, Office 365, VMware, and VoIP administration experience.
- Proven skills in computer repair, troubleshooting, asset management, deployment, and liquidation.
- Experience with network administration, systems administration, and business continuity planning.
- Experience with structured cabling implementation and maintenance.
- Experience managing DNS records, SPF records, SSL certificates, DKIM, and DMARC.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.
- Skills in problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
- Ability to explain complex technology concepts in simple terms.
- Previous experience exercising high levels of initiative, judgement, and diplomacy.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Industry recognized technical certifications are preferred (CCNA, ITIL, MCSE, PMP, etc.)
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or other hosting providers is preferred.
- Cisco Meraki network administration experience is preferred.
- Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) management experience is preferred.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $72,003.58 - $90,004.48
