- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is required.
- Five to seven years’ experience in an analytic environment related to nonprofit accounting and grants management.
- Three - five years of solid supervisory experience and a CPA is preferred.
- Proven working experience as an Controller or Senior Finance Manager and thorough knowledge of GAAP related to nonprofit entities and extensive experience in nonprofit accounting and financial reporting.
- Highly proficient in accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred), payroll software (Paylocity preferred), and experience using large scale automated financial systems (general ledger, budgeting and reporting) and spreadsheets/databases required.
- You have the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines. Adept at managing peak work periods, and changing circumstances.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain effective financial controls for all systems to protect the School’s assets.
- Coordinate, direct, and manage the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variances analysis.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements.
- Monitor and oversee compliance with cost allowability, financial reporting and other requirements for restricted grants (federal, state and local), contracts and donations.
- Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance regulations for all Federal grants.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close process. Publish timely monthly and annual financial statements; Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting; Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Build and update revenue, cost, and cash flow forecasts on an ongoing basis.
- Calculate annual cash flow requirements and modify monthly based on current needs and information.
- Oversee all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, G/L, Payroll, and Revenue Recognition.
- Prepare and communicate financial information, including monthly financial reports, analysis, budgets and updates to the CFO/COO and other Executives as needed.
- Develop presentations and analytical material to be presented to the leadership team and organization on the School’s financial status and projections.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor the Finance team.
