Audubon Pennsylvania is a leader in the Alliance for Watershed Education (AWE). AWE is a regional initiative of 23 partnering environmental education centers that is funded and supported by the William Penn Foundation. Each of the centers is located along the Circuit Trail or a major connecting hiking/biking/walking trail, and on waterways throughout the Delaware River Watershed in Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The Alliance strives to provide meaningful opportunities to engage the thousands of outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy the local trails and waterways, and to build a new constituency for the protection of clean water among all those living near and visiting the region.

Audubon Pennsylvania is seeking a Fellowship Program Assistant to serve as an ambassador for AWE, Audubon Pennsylvania and the Delaware River watershed by engaging the 46 fellows at the 23 centers. The Assistant will work closely with the Watershed Fellowship Coordinator to assist with all program development and activities for the fellowship program, which is a 12-week summer program for young adults.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide administrative support to the Watershed Fellowship Coordinator with daily program activities.
  • Assist with internal communications between fellows through phone, email, and social media.
  • Support the implementation of trainings, in-person regional meetings, and webinars.
  • Organize program activities materials, hard-copy files, cloud files, and contact lists.
  • Represent the Alliance at AWE Meetings and community events.
  • Bridge communications and information between AWE Fellows Alumni and current program participants.
  • Provide supplemental guidance to program participants with their capstone projects and summit presentations.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 1-2 years' experience in program development and/or community organizing work.
  • Oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity also necessary.
  • A positive attitude and good sense of humor, as well as comfort working independently as a leader and part of a team, when needed.
  • Exceptional public speaking skills and interpersonal relationship support.
  • Self-motivated with taking the initiative in planning and completing task.
  • Ability and commitment to working in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to carry out multiple task.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in various work environments.
