The Manager, Culture & Professional Learning (M, CPL) drives the execution of priority projects working towards our regional vision, goals and priorities with a focus on staff culture, learning and development. This includes building a culture of excellence, diversity, equity, inclusiveness, urgency and core value alignment. This individual will work closely with the MD, Chief of Staff and Executive Director, work across teams to foster cross collaboration, understand the learning needs of our region and drive an ongoing learning agenda for our staff. The M, CPL will execute on the vision for our all staff spaces (both formal and informal) and support related logistics. This is a new role for our region and the M, CPL will need to have an entrepreneurial approach and be able to operate with some ambiguity. The M, CPL will create and support systems and structures with an eye towards inclusivity – contributing to the conditions, culture and infrastructure needed for our 18 - person team to drive towards our regional vision and goals.
Operations & Culture Management (50%)
- Execute regional culture plan aligned to vision and priorities of the region to facilitate a connected, inclusive, supported staff culture focused on progress towards our strategic goals, our Core Values, and our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness.
- Manage internal office communication to ensure full team is informed and connected. This includes sending bi-weekly blasts and improving other forms of individual communication for our team.
- Continuously assess equity across systems and structures within the region. Work to align and support ongoing execution of systems as necessary.
- Create systems for institutional knowledge management as staff members enter and exit roles (eg. box, google drive, etc.).
- Evaluate, make necessary adjustments and execute our approach to welcoming, celebrating and honoring exiting staff members.
- Own our goal of 100% GPTW survey completion, survey results data analysis, staff debrief and action planning in partnership with MD, COS.
- Have an ongoing pulse on staff culture via structured staff discussions, individual conversations and other strategies.
- Coordinate all regional staff event logistics (examples include but are not limited to all staff experiences, team and individual celebrations, holiday party, feast of fall).
- Act as regional selection manager including surveying staff on final evaluation availability, assign final evaluation schedule for all staff and manage ongoing schedule throughout the year.
- Other special projects as assigned.
Staff diversity, learning, and leadership experiences (45%)
- Work alongside MD, Chief of Staff and Executive Director to set vision and priorities for staff development. Build and align all experiences to this vision.
- Work across teams to identify knowledge and resource gaps. Leverage guiding principles for adult learning to shape the strategy.
- Create a strong onboarding strategy and execute for new staff members. This includes overseeing logistics and facilitating introductions to the team, policies and procedures.
- Support some of our key talent systems including Elevate performance development process, monitoring staff professional development budget and hiring processes as needed.
Collaboration with regional and national teams (5%)
- Participate in the National Final Evaluation process (Selection) for up to six days during the year
- Matriculate incoming Greater Philadelphia corps members during 4-5 confirmation windows
- Attend large-scale, full-day regional events such as all corps programming and Induction
- Attend and participate in bi-monthly Stand-Up Meetings, quarterly All Staff Events, and any additional required staff programming
- 2-4 years of work experience at Teach For America - Greater Philadelphia required
- Experience planning and facilitating trainings for other adults
- Ability to develop and manage project plans from inception to final execution

Work Demands
