Advanced Camp, Sports and Teen Director

Develop and manage a variety of camp, youth and community programs that are responsive to member needs. Provide leadership to the management of aquatics, camp, youth and teen programs. Participate in the cultivation and development of relationships that build member, staff and volunteer involvement. Participate in fund raising through annual support, special events and third party sources. Identify opportunities for programs that meet financial and service objectives. Cultivate relationships with community leaders to ensure program effectiveness. Administer program budget, materials, communication, marketing and promotion.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage the daily operations and personnel of assigned departments and programs. Recruit, train, supervise and develop staff and volunteers to conduct programs and services. Prepare descriptions, establish standards, monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of camp, youth sports and teen programs. Develop and implement strategies to serve more youth and teens in the community. Maintain American Camping Association standards, certifications and all necessary licenses.
  • Establish plans and projections for programs and projects. Prepare detailed cost-benefit analysis of programs, monitor financial indicators and member feedback to assess program effectiveness.
  • Cultivate relations with community leaders, parents and employers to develop quality youth and teen programs that are consistent with the miss ion and values.
  • Develop Association signature programs and provide leadership to teen programs, Youth in Government, Leader Clubs, YGuides, YAchievers and others.
  • Seek additional funding sources through successful grant writing and acquisition.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in related field with some related experience in youth program development.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2 to 4 years of progressively responsible experience in leading youth/teen programs.
  • Experience in supervising and leading staff and volunteers.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating teen programs focused structured activities that develop mind, body and spirit.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring financial projections, budgets and assessment of program effectiveness.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $34,200.00 - $47,500.00
