Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, oversees the development and operations of all Family Services Programs.
Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, oversees the development and operations of all Family Services Programs: currently: Early Learning Center Preschool Program, After/Before Care Program, B-3 (21st Century) Middle/High School Program and Summer Camp (traditional program). Assures growth in revenue in Childcare Programs. Assures mission advancement and compliance to grantor’s outcomes in all Grant Programs. Takes a leadership role in the development and implementation of new youth development programs. The Senior Director of YD oversees the Director of the Y’s Early Learning Center, the Director of B-3, and the Director of Childcare. The Senior Director of Youth Development demonstrates cause-driven leadership through the following YMCA Leadership Competencies- Mission Advancement; Collaboration; Operational Effectiveness and Personal Growth. The Senior Director of Youth Development engages in and promotes the YMCA mission through the core values: Honesty, Caring, Responsibility and Respect.
- Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program growth for the YMCA.
- Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development, evaluations and on-going training of staff.
- Seeks new and continued funding for programs that fit into the Y’s Mission and Vision.
- Innovates and implements strategies to market and communicate all YD programs to best assure their success.
- Develops and controls department budgets related to the position. Provides data and reports as required for assigned programs and provides consistent outcome measurement protocols.
- Recruits, develops and assures training, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Emphasizes YMCA Leadership Competency Development model in training and evaluations.
- Assures emphasis on YMCA mission, vision, focus areas, and core values in all programs. Clarifies mission, vision, core values and strategies with Childcare teams and all constituents.
- Facilitates excellent and consistent communication and provides consistent caring and professional leadership with community partners, Y board, staff, parents and program participants. Direct and lead staff to engage and connect with parents and program participants in meaningful and impactful ways.
- Executes strategies to ensure that program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
- Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed. Is knowledgeable and able to provide oversight in program areas monitored by licensing.
- Assures compliance and accountability with all grant-funded programs.
- Assures excellent coordination of special events and activities. Provides liaison to committee(s) and advisory board(s) as requested.
- With the Leadership team, develop long-term plans to sustain stable financial operations, growth and improvement in the quality of the YMCA.
- Participates in fundraising programs and strategies. Direct and lead staff to engage in telling the story of the Y and follow through on fundraising goals.
- Other duties as requested in particular as related to Youth Development.
- Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
- Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, public relations, program development and fundraising.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- YMCA Organizational or Multi-team Leader certification preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications may be required
- Ability to be proactive in communication with members, helping them to better understand our program, mission, vision and values
- Must be a competent and effective leader
- Skills in planning, organizing, systematizing, implementing are essential.
- Must have proven skills in problem solving and decision-making.
- Proven ability to handle with integrity confidential and sensitive information.
- Must be able to prepare reports, correspondence, meet deadlines
- Must have knowledge and experience in use of computer applications, particularly MS Excel, Word, Outlook.

Salary: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00
