The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is seeking a proactive, strategic, collaborative and resourceful Human Resources Director to provide leadership in assuring the effectiveness and efficiency of an engaging, productive, positive, safe and healthy environment for 35 full-time and 175 part-time staff members, volunteers, and other constituents of the growing Raritan Bay Area YMCA.
Under the guidance of the Senior Vice President, the Human Resources Director engages in and promotes the YMCA culture and mission through the core values of Honesty, Caring, Responsibility, Respect and Faith.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic urban, growing organization just 5 miles west of New York City in the water front city of Perth Amboy. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We enthusiastically serve over 6,000 members in the Raritan Bay area.
The Human Resources Director will:
- Assure effective, mission/value based talent management via recruitment, on-boarding and development of staff and volunteers
- Assure effectiveness in staff and volunteer development including reward systems both compensatory and non-compensatory. Develop, plan and implement events, resources, tools for employee and volunteer recognition, appreciation and engagement and reinforce understanding of organizational culture.
- Develop and maintain effective and efficient lines of employer/employee and volunteer communication in the Y voice to support staff in obtaining necessary and relevant information and resources.
- Employee Relations: coach and advise leaders; serve as internal consultant ensuring fair and equitable treatment of employees while minimizing the organization’s liability
- Be familiar with and understand all standards as they apply to assuring a safe, healthy, productive, positive, engaging and legally compliant environment including compliance with all Y policies and procedures
- Effectively administrate all benefits including compliance with all regulations and policies internal and external
- Assure efficient processing and updating of all employment/volunteer paperwork for both new and existing employees and volunteers working to assure timely documentation, certification, etc. are obtained and documented.
- Research and recommend, and upon approval, implement and communicate Policy changes as necessary.
- Assure processing of workers compensation, unemployment, insurance and disability claims as required
- Oversee PT HR Coordinator
- Handle and/or assist with other administrative, and human resource issues as requested including management of HR Budget
- The ideal candidate will be strategic, curious, possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to think analytically and critically, exceptional follow-up skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Current certification in Human Resources: SPHR or equivalent preferred. Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00
