The YMCA of Metro North is seeking a full-time Head Swim Coach for a team of approximately 175 swimmers of all ages.  The team practices at two branches at the Y's in the Metro North marketplace and swims in US and Y meets.  The YMCA of Metro North is looking for someone who is passionate about competitive swimming and wants to partner with an ever growing community. During swim season, this position will work afternoons & evenings and during weekends for swim meets.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Create challenging and effective workouts
  •  Manage practice schedule
  •  Effective race strategy an stroke techniques
  •  Arrange travel for meets
  •  Enrollment requirements for swim meets
  •  Meet and manage parental expectations
  •   Create an inclusive and challenging environment for swimmers of all levels
Compensation/Benefits: 
  • Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience with various age groups
  • ASCA Level 2 Certification or higher
  • Member of ASCA and USA Swimming
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and motivational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of social media platforms
  • Competitive swimming experience a plus
  • Experience with swim meet and team management software such as Team Manager, Meet Manager, or Team Unify a plus
  • Current Lifeguard, CPR PRO, AED, O2 and First Aid
  • Current WSI or YSI a plus
  • Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification
