Serves as a member of the association finance staff team to perform accounting and data reporting tasks. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Prepares and analyses financial statements and statistical reports including membership statistics and campaigns, Dream House financials, credit card fees, United Way, and reserve accounts.  Ensures safety and security of all records and reports.
  • Manages banking and accounting procedures for the association. Submits daily deposits for the association office, monitors bank account balances, manages all transfers, reconciles deposit records (operating and investment accounts), pays utility and other monthly invoices online, and follows up on bank corrections.
  • Acts as the accounting software system administrator, trains staff on system usage, implements best practices, and updates staff on system upgrades.
  • Conducts monthly journal entries, maintains chart of accounts, imports income from operations software.
  • Liaison and advocate to accounting software for future products, improvements, changes and enhancements.
  • Advises leadership on matters of fiscal procedure. Ensures compliance with departmental procedures and policies.
  • Engages in critical and confidential aspects of accounting.
  • Prepares summary sheets for use of supervisor or auditors in preparing comprehensive financial statements.
  • Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts and applications- including cash reconciliation, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Experience with standard business software and office machines.
  • Proficient in data entry and management.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • One to three years bookkeeping experience.
  • Associates degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $35,000.00 - $37,000.00
