The CEO /Executive director is a high-profile position that supports the work of the Putnam County YMCA, a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This role requires successful experience in operating a YMCA branch or similar organization, entrepreneur mindset, fundraising skills, program & membership growth, staff development, financial development, and community relations.
Located in Ottawa, Ohio, the Putnam County YMCA has over 3,300 members and an annual operating budget of $1 million.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Promotes the YMCA’s mission in the Putnam County community and develops positive working relationships with other local organizations & businesses.
- Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan and budget.
- Directs the financial development activities including fundraising for annual support campaigns and periodic capital improvement campaigns.
- Oversees and ensures compliance with hiring, training, development, and supervision of staff and volunteers, while fostering a positive work environment.
- Develops, manages, and monitors the operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets.
- Develops and directs high-quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
- Develops viable new programs and reviews existing programs that broaden engagement and participation with the community.
- Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
- Attend all Putnam County Board of Directors meetings, foster excellent communications with the Board to keep the Board properly informed, and implement the Board’s directives.
Educational Background:
Accredited 4-year college degree
Skills/Experience:
- Upper-level management experience with exceptional organizational skills
- Experience with budgetary responsibility of $1 million or higher
- Demonstrated success in fundraising
- Leadership in operations/facility management required
- Experience in developing staff
- Excellent fiscal management skills
- Strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
- Excellent communications and public relations skills.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00
