The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a dynamic and cause-driven leader as the Program Director with our Before & After Elementary School Program.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the incumbent will direct staff and have oversight of approximately 8 – 10 before and after elementary school locations during the 10 month school year, as well as oversee the day to day camp operations during the summer months.  

The incumbent must be able to travel on a regular basis within Central Florida to their assigned Before & After School locations, and other activities and events associated with the position. S/he should have related experience managing payroll and approving employee timecards. This individual must be able to utilize available technology, including demonstrated proficiency in Excel and other forms of operational data and resources to perform their role effectively and efficiently. This individual will ensure proper implementation of staff schedules and procedures to provide maximum opportunities for student/staff connections and maintain mandated ratios. S/he must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, students, parents and school administration.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Critical areas of expertise include; managing youth development and camp program quality, staff leadership, development and implementation of curriculum programming, proven experience overseeing a high volume of staff, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of quality employees.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; education or related field of study preferred. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in managing an educational program; multi-locations preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in staff supervision and leadership required.
  • Child care experience a plus.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required; Oracle experience a plus.
  • Current CPR/ AED and First Aid certifications required; obtained within first 60 days of hire.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license, and be able to travel within Central Florida.
  • Must have the capacity to work in a fast-paced; outcome driven environment
