Are you seeking the next step in your youth development management career? The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a dynamic Program Director with our Before & After Elementary School Programs. This is an entry-level salaried leadership position; the ideal candidate is seeking the next step in their career and has supervisory experience in an after-school, camp or related educational programming environment. 

The incumbent must possess superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with all levels of staff, parents, program participants, and school administration. This individual must demonstrate a high degree of responsibility, as the lives of children literally depend on it.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • This position reports to the Executive Director and will oversee  the daily before & after-school program operations at multiple elementary school locations during the 10 month school year, as well as manage camp operations during the summer months.
  • This individual will oversee the effective implementation of a full range of curriculum based programs and planned activities at each school site to achieve strategic goals.
  • The incumbent will manage staff schedules to provide maximum opportunities for student/staff connections, while maintaining mandated ratios.
  • The incumbent is responsible for staff planning, selection, onboarding, development and retention, provides regular assessments, and facilitates performance evaluations. 
  • This individual is responsible for executing company safety standards and polices, mitigates risk, ensures all staff are current with their required certifications, and takes immediate corrective action when necessary.
  • The Program Director is responsible for regularly managing payroll costs and approving employee timecards utilizing the Oracle Time and Labor system. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; education or related field of study.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing educational programs
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in staff supervision 
  • Proven success in strategic planning with program and curriculum development and implementation strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required; Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Current CPR/ AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license, and be able to travel within Central Florida. 
  • Must have the capacity to work in a fast-paced; outcome driven environment
