Under the direction of the District Executive Director, the incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of leadership to the Elementary School Program; including operations management; staffing, and growth and oversight of a $5+ million budget. The incumbent will be charged with overall program innovation and establishing new programs within the after school hours. This individual must display a positive professional demeanor with the ability to interact with all levels of management, staff, vendors, and school administration staff in order to market the YMCA program. Key to the position is the ability to cultivate and develop relationships with an emphasis on quality enhancements, compliance and service delivery, resulting in site growth to 40+ schools, and increasing revenue to over $6 million. This individual will identify ongoing recruitment strategies and delivery techniques that highlight the Y as the preferred before and after school vendor with principals and school board administrative staff.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead Program Directors staff team by providing leadership and support through strategic program delivery and curriculum building, quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Family Center and school administration leadership to ensure excellence and consistency in service.
  • Provide strategic direction for program curriculum, development of staff, and establish annual standards for achievement of programmatic outcomes, verified through audits, surveys, on-site visits and school administration feedback resulting in annual renewals.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and school requirements.
  • Serve as a model and advisor to outlining school age sites in association in regards to curriculum and program standards as well as serve on the Association Youth Development Service Committees; establishing best practices and procedures.
  • Maintain an environment supporting revenue generation to advance mission, vision, and programs, while managing expenses to insure expected net is achieved.
  • Foster a strong relationship with key School Board Administration staff for all YMCA Before and After Elementary School locations and ensure high-quality programming.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with diverse community leaders as a basis for financial development and identification/implementation of responsive programs for communities served. Work with social, civic, and local organizations to develop partnerships, where appropriate, to cultivate and/or utilize volunteers.
  • Make a real impact in the area of youth development with a leadership career at the Y!
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; education or related field of study preferred. Master’s degree in education leadership, business or related field a plus.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience developing and growing before and after educational programs; with multi-site daily operations experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in staff supervision and leadership required; including implementing accountability standards and engagement tools.
  • Experience working closely with school administration highly preferred; in the area of curriculum enhancements, compliance and service delivery.
  • Experience managing and overseeing a comparable multi-million dollar budget.
  • Must be able to provide a high-level customer service experience; with the ability to deescalate and resolve parent, staff and administration issues as needed.
  • Must be able to proactively identify and mitigate risk situation related to daily operations.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • Current CPR/ AED and First Aid certifications required; willing to obtain within first 60 days of hire.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license, and be able to travel within Central Florida.
  • Must have the capacity to work in a fast-paced; outcome driven environment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus.
  • YMCA of the USA Organizational Leader Certification and five years of progressive YMCA experience preferred.
  • Candidate must exemplify the YMCA Core Values and be able to communicate the YMCA Mission effectively.
