In this role, you will join the Digital Marketing Team helping the YMCA of Central Florida transform its online presence. We believe content is an essential part of the overall user experience and are committed to creating a best-in-class digital experience that is engaging, user-friendly, educational, informational and effective in driving leads and sales.

As a Digital Content Designer, you will take a leading role in gathering information across the Association, creating and developing website pages/posts that explain, inform and educate prospects, participants and members of the many aspects of the YMCA mission and cause.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in creating an online presence that converts prospects into buyers and an environment that upholds a remarkable user experience and increases visitor engagement, marketing leads and sales. The candidate will advance the YMCA mission through product offerings and learning experiences that compel an informed user to engage with the YMCA through online membership or program purchase, donations or volunteerism.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Translate YMCA programs and offerings into clear, effective content that target personas can use with ease and delight.
  • Write strong, compelling web content, (including development and integration of documents, infographics, video, images, e-books, PDF’s, calendars, etc.) spanning website, blogs and social media with high editorial standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on content strategies to develop an approach for messaging and create calls to action that prompt a user along the buyer journey.
  • Coordinate with YMCA Family Centers and Program Departments to standardize a process for updating and maintaining accurate website content and upholding brand standards as part of a centralization strategy.
  • Write copy that is targeted and increases qualified traffic, leads and engagement with YMCA website and other platforms.
  • Conceptualize and design visually appealing, conversion-optimized landing pages.
  • Understand each customer’s brand and voice and implement it in everything created.
  • Passionate about design with a solid understanding of color palettes, and website layouts and adhering to brand guidelines.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, UX Writing, Computer Science, Information Design, or related field or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Proven experience as a Digital Content Designer or related field.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent online communicator with creative design experience using Adobe creative software tools.
  • Knowledgeable in SEO techniques.
  • Intermediate/Advanced understanding of WordPress, HTML5, CSS.
  • Ability to generate creative ideas.
  • Experience with visual communication principles and ability to create visuals.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and under short deadlines.
  • Have agility, perseverance, patience.
  • A solid digital portfolio of past work is desired.
