Reporting to the District Vice President, the Associate Executive Director will oversee signature programming for the Family Center in the areas of Health & Wellness, Personal Training, Group Exercise and Youth & Adult Sports. This individual will bring his/her talents and experience to a team of 100+ total staff; sharing leadership responsibilities with an existing Associate Executive Director.
Critical to the position is proven results overseeing - wellness operations and technology including Technogym, and MyWellness Cloud, quality program development, outcome and standards measurement, volunteer committee leadership and fundraising, community collaborations and sound fiscal and staff management.
S/he will be challenged to provide a successful track record with comparable budget and revenue responsibilities as well as the execution of innovative wellness programs with an emphasis on member experience and retention. This individual will serve on the Family Center senior leadership team as well as on Association / corporate wellness leadership initiatives. S/he is responsible for recruiting key community leaders and committee members; creating and implementing a well-conceived development/fund-raising plan to achieve short and long term objectives.
- Establishes with the Family Center leadership team long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives.
- Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
- Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support Family Center and Association mission, goals, and strategies. May direct Family Center marketing and communication efforts.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops and directs employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Provides staff leadership for assigned committees and for annual support campaign.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
- The Associate Executive is a member of YMCA senior management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in operations management in health and wellness with at least $350K+ revenue; YMCA operations management experience; within a large $5 million total budget single facility strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing, recruiting and working with volunteers required.
- Proven experience cultivating successful relationships with Cities/Towns/Local Government, strongly preferred.
- Microsoft Office proficiency required; Oracle, SalesForce and Technogym experience a plus.
- Prior experience overseeing successful fundraising plans of at least $50K annually.
