The Development Coordinator will provide integral support, coordination and revenue generation for all Chapter events including The Longest Day, Women #ENDALZ Luncheon and Walk to End Alzheimer's This position will be responsible for achieving budgetary and strategic goals as part of the Alzheimer's Association's strategic plan. This position requires significant collaboration with staff, volunteers, corporations, organizations and the community at-large to achieve goals.
The Development Coordinator works closely with the Development Team to provide exceptional service internally with staff and volunteers and externally with our Walkers, team captains and donors. This position reports to the Director of Development.
- Work closely with Mass Market Manager to support special events including The Longest Day and Women #ENDALZ Luncheon.
- Work closely with Walk Director to support Walk to End Alzheimer's.
- Identify, recruit, train and manage high impact volunteers for fundraising events who will assist the organization in increasing concern and awareness as well as growing revenue.
- Participate in meetings, providing input and suggestions.
- Maintain steady communication with Chapter staff, volunteers, and vendors.
- Organize, lead, and promote interest in special events.
- Assist and maintain databases and websites for all special events, participants and donors.
- Work with Chapter Leadership to establish budgets, work plans and timelines for events.
- Educate committee and participants on Alzheimer's disease and the Alzheimer's Association and assures proper use of the Alzheimer's Association brand.
- Order and inventory of collateral materials, t-shirts, event day signage, etc. for special events.
- Directly interact with donors, including answering development and organization inquiries, accepting donations, providing excellent customer service and Convio/website support.
- Complete timely donation processing and follow-up as needed.
- Ensure that confidentiality and security of all information is maintained.
- Maintain accurate and complete participant and financial records for event
- Represent the Association at public events, conferences, workshops, and media events where there is fundraising potential and ability to raise awareness of Alzheimer's Association and its mission.
- Provide day of event support for Women #ENDALZ Luncheon, The Longest Day, Walk to End Alzheimer's and other special events as needed.
- 2-4 years of experience in marketing, peer-to-peer fundraising or similar roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of proficiency with social media programs; including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and/or LinkedIn.
- Work history indicating dependability, accuracy with details and deadline management.
- Ability to accurately maintain records, prepare reports, and coordinate multiple projects.
- Effective logistical coordination skills.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to compose general business correspondence and review own work for accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills; professional customer service skills with visitors, callers and volunteers.
- Strong listening skills; friendly, helpful manner with clients.
- Experience in volunteer development and management, public relations, donor cultivation and relations, corporate sponsor cultivation and relations.
- Ability to work with vendors such as graphic artists, printers, merchandise businesses, caterers, etc. to deliver special events collateral materials.
- Ability to travel occasionally throughout the Chapter Area.
- Must be able to lift, carry, transport, and setup a variety of event materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusiveness.
- Ability to manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy.
- Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings.
