This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Executive Director of Youth Achievement will change the lives of families across the Omaha metro area by leading our community outreach programs and developing our team.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Leads youth achievement programs, which may include before-and-after school sites, Reach & Rise mentoring, STEM, Power Scholars and others to achieve the YMCA's mission.
- Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to ensure high quality programming and/or membership growth for the YMCA. Expands program within the community by fostering current and developing new relationships.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and supervises staff and volunteers as needed.
- Develops and controls budgets related to the position.
- Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations and grant requirements as they relate to program areas. Maintains proper records/department files.
- Ensures assigned program facilities and equipment are maintained to support healthy living.
- Leads Youth Achievement Branch Advisory Board and fund raising activities.
- Coordinates special events for parents, children and families.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Compiles program statistics; evaluates and modifies quality and enrollment, as needed.
- Serves as a member of YMCA leadership team and supports overall objectives of the YMCA.
- Participates in on-going training and development as needed.
- Actively participates in branch, department and association staff meetings and/or trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelors required, education degree and M.S. in education preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Qualified to meet the Director requirements set forth by NE and IA state regulations.
- At least 3 years of management experience, preferably in the YMCA or education.
- Proven track record of successfully directing programs through supervision of staff and volunteers; facility operations; development and management of budgets; marketing and public relations campaigns; program development; and fundraising.
- Demonstrated history of fostering collaborations with community organizations.
- Complete within 30 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention Training; CPR; First Aid; Emergency Oxygen Administration (provided by YMCA)
- Complete and maintain YMCA program-specific training &/or certifications.
- Reliable transportation to travel between branches/sites on a daily basis required.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary $48,000.00 - $52,000.00
