Will oversee all Y&F departments inside of the Downtown District including all Youth & Family programming and the Child Development Center.
The Associate Executive Director of Youth Development will oversee all Youth Development departments inside of the District including all Youth & Family programming and the Child Development Center. Will supervise one exempt staff program director, one full-time coordinator and one full-time administrative assistant. Serves in a branch leadership role when called upon to do so in the absence of the District Executive. Works independently under general direction and is expected to determine how to accomplish tasks.
This position will office at the E.L. Gaylord Downtown YMCA is a full time, salary/exempt position.
PRINCIPAL YOUTH & FAMILY ACTIVITIES:
- Recruits, trains, and develops staff
- Identifies and resolves problems to ensure member and participant satisfaction
- Supervises all Youth & Family staff to ensure proper implementation of front line procedures
- Responsible for increasing Before & After School and Day Camp Participation via existing sites & the establishment of new markets
- Establish and grow ancillary programs such as Adventure Guides, Leaders Club and Parent’s Night Out
- Identify, create, and promote new Youth & Family Programs at the YMCA
- Represents the YMCA at community or partner events including school fairs, business fairs, and other special events promoting the YMCA
- Collaborates with other key staff to further improve the YMCA
- Performs all Youth & Family functions in the absence of staff
- Assures all ACA/DHS guidelines & policies are adhered to ensure child safety and development
- Constructs, monitors and delivers results of annual departmental operating budget
PRINCIPAL CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER (CDC) ACTIVITIES:
- Assures continuity, synergy and collaboration between CDC and Youth & Family departments
- Oversight of program overall to ensure quality
- Grow and maintain referral partnerships for staff recruitment
- Provides direct supervision of program and facility in absence of CDC Director
- Represents the YMCA at community or partner events including school fairs, business fairs and other special events promoting the YMCA
- Assures all DHS guidelines & policies are adhered to ensure child safety and development
- Constructs, monitors and delivers results of annual departmental operating budget
PRINCIPLE ASSOCIATE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ACTIVITIES:
The Associate Executive Director component of this position requires that the incumbent serve in an elevated position within the branch and assist the Executive Director in leading the District.
- Provide support to both the YMCA Annual Campaign and United Way Staff Campaigns specific to the youth development departments
- Participate in community events, networks, and activities as assigned
- Assist District Executive Director in recruitment of volunteers for Branch Council and Campaign.
- Serve as the point person and direct overseer of the CDC when Director is unavailable
- 3-5 years’ management experience in Youth & Family programming.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must be certified by the Red Cross in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid or willing to become certified.
