The Associate, Development & Communications Operations will provide best in class operations and administrative support for the region’s development and communication initiatives, with a focus on supporting AmeriCorps, state funding, and other major grants management tasks. You will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, customer service, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. You bring a record of accomplishment working independently on projects, from conception to completion, and are able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. You must possess outstanding poise and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences including corps members, alumni, district personnel, high-level funders, and Teach For America senior staff. The Associate, Development & Communications Operations reports to the Chief of Staff and will be part of the People, Culture, and Strategy team to ensure a tight alignment of operations across our regional initiatives. To be successful in the role, you will collaborate closely with other operations staff and coordinate key aspects of your work with the Director of Development & Communications.
- Grants Management & Compliance (25%) – supports key processes that ensure we are meeting our regional grant management responsibilities in collaboration with our national team, to include:
- Supporting in research, drafting, and monitoring of our regional grants to realize a diverse funding portfolio for the region
- Supporting the tagging of Oklahoma City expenses to grants and checking tagged expenses to ensure compliance
- Supporting information dissemination to staff to ensure we are appropriately coding expenses for successful drawdown of funds
- Coordinating with our Program team to ensure all grant outcomes and expectations are met and appropriate data is collected for reporting purposes
- Attending AmeriCorps required trainings and engagements to ensure we are meeting all obligations of the grant
- Operational & Systems Excellence (35%) - works closely with the Executive Director and Director, Development & Communications to support timely and accurate execution of tasks and projects in the development and communications operational plans. This includes but is not limited to:
- Completing all gift processing and acknowledgment steps
- Conducting prospect research on potential funders across all streams
- Supporting all internal and external meeting preparation for Executive Director and Director, Development & Communications
- Providing logistical leadership for all development and communications related events
- Gathering content and publishing in our social media channels according to our regional communications plan
- Data Quality & Tracking (20%) – owns execution of detail oriented tasks across all development and communications channels that comply with TFA policies and expectations. This includes but is not limited to donor and constituent tracking systems, data management in TFACT, communications systems like Pardot, and meeting prep and download systems to ensure quality assurance to message and brand.
- Regional Advisory Board Support (5%) – serves as logistical support to the Board Development Committee with guidance from the Director of Development and updating all board-related information in our databases
- Constituent Engagement & Mobilization (10%) – supports the recruitment, investment, preparation, and coordination of staff, board, corps members, and alumni to engage as active champions of our development and communications objectives to increase our reach, network, and impact
- Regional Responsibilities (5%) – supports selection and matriculation efforts, along with other cross-functional duties and initiatives that accelerate our collective progress towards our regional plan and direction
- 1-2 years of experience in development or communications-related role preferred
- Operations or administrative experience highly preferred
- Development, grant writing, or fundraising experience a plus
- High level of personal responsibility with exceptional goal orientation and a proven track record of success
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Work Demands
- Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities [2-3 times/year]
- Ability to travel independently, by car, to multiple locations for work each day that may be significant distances from one another
- Occasional weekend or evening work is required

- Ability to lift and transport up to 30 pounds for work purposes
