The Gateway Region YMCA is seeking a motivated candidate to fill the position of Branch Executive Director for our O'Fallon, IL location.

The Gateway Region YMCA has an immediate opening for a Cause-Driven leader to provide leadership to the O’Fallon Family YMCA in O’Fallon, IL. This full facility branch has a combined revenue base of $3M. This highly successful Y has over 3300 membership units, 200-day campers, over 400 kids/session in aquatic programs and 400 youth in sports and gymnastics. The branch enjoys a blend of membership types with steady memberships in all categories. The O’Fallon Family YMCA is a unique branch with a strong relationship/partnership with Memorial Hospital. Additionally, the branch has a long history of engaging with military servicemen and women as it sits just a few miles away from Scott Air Force Base. The branch will be embarking on a portion of the overall Gateway Region YMCA Comprehensive Capital Campaign in the near future. This is a wonderful opportunity for a motivated, cause-driven leader to join an innovative, mission-based Association with an exciting vision for the future.

Areas of Responsibility: 

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the District Vice President, the selected candidate oversees the total operation of the Chesterfield branch, including operational leadership, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.

Candidates must demonstrate successful experience in project management, staff supervision/training, program development, fiscal management, volunteer development, board development, and fundraising. The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills along with a proven track record of staff development, community partnerships, program supervision and fundraising.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 or more years of management experience in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
  • YUSA Organizational Leader Status preferred
  • 3 years of Executive Leadership experience
  • $2 million minimum budget experience
  • Program management
  • Proven fundraising success

Special skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and writing skills
  • Possess a high level of organizational knowledge, experience and proficiency
  • Articulate communication skills relating to branch and campus leadership
  • Ability to successfully lead, recruit and develop staff and volunteers of all levels
  • Possess and demonstrate commitment and passion for mission-centered objectives
  • Master conflict resolution skills and crisis management proficiencies
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and change capacity
